Abstract

Recent years, wearable devices gain more prominence in health care and military applications to monitor the monitor human physiological signs such as heart beat rate, breathing etc. It is essential to secure the human vital signs since it gives complete information human physiological system. In this work, an On-Board Computer based hardware system is developed to read the human vital signs such as heart beat rate, body temperature and Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals. Further, the acquired human vital signs and ECG signals are encrypted using Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256-bit encryption algorithm at the node point resulting in secure transmission of human physiological information to a monitoring places or hospitals. Also, the acquired signals are stored in a Comma Separated Value (.CSV) file format and it is encrypted and decrypted with passwords provides high security. Results demonstrate that the encryption and decryption of human physiological information is possible and it is proved that the human vital signs can be transmitted over longer distances with high security.
