Abstract
The Emirates Society of Geoscience is a voluntary organization dedicated to the spread of recent geosciences technology and education in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Society's membership includes geophysicists, geologists, petrophysicists, and engineers involved in the petroleum industry and the UAE universities. Founded in 1987, about the time the petroleum industry was rapidly expanding in the UAE, the society has held monthly meetings that provide a speaker forum for emerging exploration and development geoscience advancements. Presentations often come from distinguished lecturer and distinguished instructor series sponsored by SEG. Other affiliated societies such as AAPG and EAGE also contribute distinguished lecturers.
