Abstract

A new structure of a second-order delta-sigma modulator with two 1 bit quantisers is presented. The main advantage is the 6dB reduction of total output noise power compared with a conventional second-order delta-sigma modulator. The amplifier saturation problem can also be eased. These are confirmed by a system level simulation program. The switched-capacitor implementation is also considered.
