Abstract

An analysis of the genesis of porous structures formed during the polymerization of vinyl chloride has been carried out, based on a model of randomly dispersed spheres, the radius of which is increased with time. Equations were derived for mean macropore radius, specific surface and porosity, in relation to the degree of monomer conversion. The results may be used for the description of other similar processes.
