Abstract

The First International Human Rights Conference, organised by the Solidarity Human Rights Commission together with the Peace and Freedom Movement from Poland (these organizations were illegal at the time) was succesfully held in Krakow. with more than 1000 participants. At that conference it was agreed to hold another International Conference in 1990. Therefore. an International Organizing Committee was created. This Committee decided that the next Conference would be held in Vilnius, Lithuania in 1990 and that the following meeting of the Committee itself was to be held in the Spring of 1990.
