Abstract

FROM THE CONVENOR’S DESKThe Department of Physics, St. Thomas College Pala, is highly privileged to organize the Second International Conference on Materials Science and Technology (ICMST 2016) during 5 - 8 June 2016, and as Convenor of the conference it is with legitimate pride and immense gratitude to God that I remember the most enthusiastic responses received for this from scientists all over the world. Following the grand success of our First International Conference ICMST 2012, we have provided once again a really exciting opportunity to consider the tremendous revolutionary changes in Materials Science and Technology and it is quite integrative and challenging to synchronize an extensive dialogue on issues pertinent to the field. That experts of diverse disciplines from across the world were sitting under one roof for four days, exchanging views and sharing findings, was a speciality of this conference. The event has evoked excellent responses from all segments of the Materials Science community worldwide. Around 600 renowned scholars from 30 countries participated in this. We were uniquely honoured to have Prof P. J. Kurien, Honourable Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha of India to inaugurate this conference. The presence of illustrious scientists and delegates including the Nobel Laureates Prof. Ada E Yonath from Israel and Prof. Klaus von Klitzing from Germany made the conference rise up to the standards of a distinguished institution like St. Thomas College, Pala.A conference of this kind provides a nonpareil, a distinctly outstanding platform for the Scholars, Researchers and the Scientists to discuss and share ideas with delegates from all over the world. This had been most fruitful to the participants in identifying new collaborations and strengthening existing relations.List of conference photos are available in this PDF.
