Abstract

In present communication, Second Harmonic generation (SHG) of intense beam in thermal quantum plasmas(TQP) under joint action of relativistic-ponderomotive force(RP force) is explored. The change in electron mass is observed under action of RP force, thereby giving rise to variation in background electron density profile. As a result, self-focusing of input beam is observed. Familiar WKB and paraxial theory approximations are employed in order to obtain 2nd order differential equation for beam width of main beam. The RP force causes formation of density gradients inside plasma thereby producing electron plasma wave (EPW). SHG is generated from nonlinear interaction between EPW and main beam. We have investigated influence on numerous laser plasma parameters and RP force on behavior of beam width of pump beam and yield of second harmonics.
