Abstract
The Second Annual Dressed Market Poultry and Egg Show, conducted under the auspices of the Poultry Department of the Massachusetts Agricultural College, was held in Stockbridge Hall, December 15 and 16, 1916. Commercial poultrymen, farmers and students contributed to the exhibits in both the dressed poultry and egg classes. The show was arranged in three principle groups. The students exhibits which consisted of special fattened springs, fowls, roosters and capons, occupied the most conspicuous place in the hall. To the right of the student exhibit was placed the commercial exhibits of roasters fowls and eggs, while to the left was arranged an educational exhibit. Some of the features of the exhibit demonstrated the standard methods of box packing broilers, roasters and fowls; the western, eastern and English styles of dry picked roasters; the American and English styles of trussed and drawn roasters; proper and improper methods of scalding; corn fattened …
