Abstract

The incidence of shoot and fruit borer on shoot began in the first week of August (31th SMW) and reached to its peak (36.36%) in the second week of September (36th SMW) during 2014–15 and first week of September (36.91%) during 2015–16 respectively. The shoot damage exhibited a significant positive correlation (r = 0.592) with morning relative humidity during 2014–15 and significant positive correlation (r = 0.527) with mean temperature during 2015–16. The incidence of shoot and fruit borer on fruit began in fourth week of September during both years, reaching the peak of 30.05 and 32.30 per cent on number basis and 27.50 and 29.42 per cent on weight basis in the fourth week of October and third week of October respectively. The fruit damage had a significant negative correlation with morning relative humidity on number (r =-640) and weight basis (r =-645) during 2014–15 and significant positive correlation with maximum temperature on number (r = 0.642) and weight (r = 629) basis during 2015–16.
