Abstract
Abstract The results of inspecting five gamma-ray burst error boxes using more than 7,000 archival photographic plates are reported. We have found altogether two star-like images within and five such images in the immediate vicinity of three error boxes. A brief discussion of the connection of these possible optical flashes with the gamma-ray burst sources is given.
