Abstract

We have looked for the emission of neutrons (in the energy range (1.9÷3.0) MeV) from deuterium-charged palladium and titanium cathodes, where a high-intensity pulsed muon (pion) beam was stopped. Upper limits of a few emitted neutrons per 1000 stopped muons or pions were observed.
