Abstract
Two seals – both of which are designed to operate under punishing conditions – were launched recently by SKF, which specialises in bearings, seals, lubrication systems and maintenance services. As this brief article describes, the first seal has been developed to protect large bearings in demanding applications, is easy to retrofit and available as a stock item to enable fast replacement. The second is a new design of the company's cassette seal, which enhances its performance and extends its service life.
