Abstract
Objective To study the characteristics and screening of retinopathy of prematurity(ROP) by using the indirect ophthalmoscope with ocular fundus imaging.Methods The computeraided ocular fundus imaging was used to examine 250 premature infants for ROP.Results Twentythree ROP patients were diagnosed out of the 250 infants,including 10 cases of stage 1 of ROP,5 of stage 2,4 of stage 3,1 case with aggressive posterior ROP and 3 with stage 5.The typical images of stage 1,stage 2,stage 3 ROP and additional disease were obtained through the indirect ophthalmoscope,and the characters of ocular fundus in premature and ROP infants were summarized.Conclusions The computer-aided ocular fundus imaging from binocular indirect ophthalmoscope can take clear fundus pictures of premature infants,with which ophthalmologists are able to analyze and record the results correctly,and it can be performed easily and used in ROP screening in the future.
