Abstract
ABSTRACTThis study presents microstructural and phase compositional characterization of 30-μm-thick bismuth ferrite (BiFeO3) films screen-printed on Ag, Au and Pt metal foils. Ag is shown to be chemically incompatible with BiFeO3 at temperatures higher than 750°C. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy analysis reveal that an almost single phase BiFeO3 thick film can be obtained on Au and Pt substrates after sintering at 750°C, while sintering at 820°C results in increased densification of BiFeO3. This work represents another step further towards the integration of BiFeO3 into thick film structures.
