Abstract
Peer and group activities can help students develop knowledge and skills. Alternative assessment for peer and group activities can use to evaluate students performance in classroom activities. The paper aim to discuss the use of alternative assessment tool named scratch and challenge on teaching practices to promote active learning and improve soft skills among students. Findings from systematic review show that scratch and challengecan be a tool to manage students ideas on discussed topic, a platform to improve critical thinking in project based learning, and a simple guidance for active interaction learning process. This finding implies that instructors and students roles differ from those under traditional assessment practices. Furthermore, student can participate actively in learning process and engage in peer and group evaluation. This teaching tool can be recommended to be applied and tested in various instructional settings in order to motivates students and improve learning process.
