Determination of LD50 The LD50 of the Talinum triangulare leaves aqueous extract was established using the modified Lorke’s method.[38] Twenty-four adult Wistar rats (180-200g) were used for the first and second phases of the study. The rats were fasted overnight before administering orally 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 mg/kg body weight of Talinum triangulare leaves aqueous extract to the groups respectively, for the first phase with no signs of toxicity and mortality for seventy-two hours post administration.
