Abstract
Research activities include identifying current research problems, elaboration of relevant documents, thorough disclosure of the topic, promotion of research achievements in both national and international space. The results of such activities lead to the formation of a single information space, based on the relationship between science and the world professional environment. The current state of the world science has shown that the main criteria for the effective operation of research institutions should be: international recognition of scientific results, publication activity of individual employees, departments and research institutions in general. The scientific community has formed a strategy, aimed at intensifying publishing activities, increasing the efficiency of publishing research results. Publication activity is an important component in compiling ratings of scientific institutions, which is determined depending on the traditions of publishing scientific results in journals, conference proceedings, monographs, etc. The article analyzes the scientific publications of the NLUV scientific staff for the period of 2017-2019. The publishing activity of the staff members in professional periodicals published in the NLUV is researched: 1) scientific works of the National Library of Ukraine named after V. I. Vernadsky; 2) the Library Bulletin; 3) manuscript and book heritage of Ukraine; 4) Ukrainian biography writing; 5) libraries of national academies of sciences: problems of functioning, tendencies of development. The number of publications in foreign publications is studied, the number of publications in other scientific sources, information and analytical bulletins is analyzed. The number of approbations of research results of the NLUV researchers and librarians at international scientific conferences and forums is disclosed. Along with the number of publications, the author’s sheets of paper are counted, which are a unit of measurement of the volume of work performed in scientific activities.

Summary
В 2018 р. минуло 100 років з дня заснування НБУВ – найбільшої бібліотеки України, головного науково-інформаційного центру держави, що підпорядковує свою діяльність потребам національно-культурного розвитку, збереження національної самобутності українського народу, його ефективної конкуренції у глобалізованому світі. Наслідком наукової діяльності має стати науковий результат – нове наукове знання, одержане в процесі фундаментальних або прикладних наукових досліджень, зафіксоване на носіях інформації, бути у формі звіту, опублікованої наукової статті, наукової доповіді, наукового повідомлення про науководослідну роботу, монографічного дослідження, наукового відкриття, проекту нормативно-правового акта, нормативного документа або науково-методичних документів, оприлюднений у вигляді окремого наукового видання [7]. До категорії «Б» включаються наукові періодичні видання України, які відповідають вимогам: наявність свідоцтва про державну реєстрацію засобу масової інформації; ISSN-номер, що використовується для ідентифікації видання; присвоєння матеріалу міжнародного цифрового ідентифікатора DOI (Digital Object Identifier); наявність web-сайта видання з українським та англійським інтерфейсами; розміщення на платформі «Наукова періодика України» в НБУВ та в Національному репозитарії академічних текстів; забезпечення незалежного рецензування поданих для публікації матеріалів.
