Abstract

This article discusses the current state of scientific support for the production of manganese alloys and ways to make their production more efficient. A mathematical model is obtained to describe the recovery of manganese and how the yield of manganese is affected by geometric, electrical, and technological parameters. Substantiation is provided for changing the geometric parameters of furnaces so as to increase the ohmic resistance of the furnace bath, and it shown to be expedient to separate unit electric-power consumption into two components: useful power per ton of the alloy product; active power loss per ton of the alloy product.
