Abstract

AbstractOriginally,Ontology is a philosophical discipline concerned with the question of what exists and what is the essence of things. The term ‘Ontology’ stems from ancient Greek and can be translated as ‘theory of existence’4. The discipline of Ontology was founded by Greek philosophers, such as Parmenides of Elea and Aristotle, during the 4th Century BC. Ontology has been a topic of active research throughout the Middle Ages and Modern Age until today, with contributions from such renowned philosophers as Kant and Wittgenstein.
