Abstract

The last century has witnessed rapid growth in science and technology, which lead the establishment of industrialisation throughout the world and domination of market economy over the agrarian economy. More recently, the knowledge economy has emerged over all others, which is also driven by the emerging areas of science and technology data bases. The rapid industrial and urban growth has resulted to the degraded ecosystems caused by the anthropogenic pollutants and climate change, global warming, deforestation, resource crunch, energy crisis and health hazards are several new threats which have insisted to opt for a sustainable development pathway.

It has appeared that the role of science and technology for sustainable development, inclusive growth and socio-economic equity needs a thorough review of the existing knowledge and search of new knowledge using interdisciplinary wisdom and skills. This journal will provide such a forum to the students, researchers, professionals, academicians, planners, communicators and administrators globally. In addition to original research papers, short communications and review articles, we have decided to include letters to editor, scientific correspondence, meeting reports and book reviews also in this journal. Contributors may go through the authors guidelines for preparation of their manuscript.

We believe that this journal will not be just another journal in this field of knowledge, but will fill up a gap existing in the area of science communication to the experts across the various disciplines in science, technology and social sciences.
