Abstract

The purpose of the current study was to investigate the science and technology teachers’ views about FATIH Project. Sub-problems of the study were to determine positive aspects of the project, the problems teachers faced during application process, and their opinions of a technology-integrated science and technology course. The study sample consists of 22 science and technology teachers employed in different geographical regions in Turkey. Case study, a qualitative research method, was used to reveal an existing possible phenomenon. Nine open-ended questions, developed by the researchers and revised based on expert opinions, were used as the data collection tool. Descriptive analysis was utilized in data analysis. According to the findings, the following were concluded: teachers were not adequately trained about FATIH Project, teachers were not adequately informed in consistence with the purpose and implementation of the project; technological equipment was not adequate in their schools, and constant electricity outages in these regions created problems in using the technologies. Findings showed that teachers were not adequately informed about the project and they experienced issues in the implementation. Suggestions towards obtained findings and future studies were included.
