Abstract

When scholarship acts as the frame, it provides an architecture that enables faculty with community partners to practice community engagement in ways that produce credible scholarship. Community-engaged scholarship has significant structural parallels to traditional scholarship; however, because it is carried out in collaboration with the community, it reflects a wider variety of goals and results.
