Abstract

The problem of field scattering of a plane electromagnetic wave on an ideally conductive dihedral cylinder-tipped wedge with an infinite longitudinal slot, instead of its strict formulation, has been reduced to treatment of a system of linear algebraic equations of the second genus, where the independent variables represent unknown coefficients of the Fourier expansion of the scattered field. The paper presents results of calculation of the field in the far zone with a prescribed accuracy. It is shown that, for a narrow wedge and narrow slot, we deal with resonant scattering of the field by the structure. The radiation pattern of the scattered field in this case does not depend on direction of the incident wave and has a quasi-circular shape.
