Abstract

In the previous chapter it was stated that the circuit equations for linear and nonlinear circuits could be reduced to a system of simultaneous linear algebraic equations of the form of (1.1), (1.2) or (1.20) for quiescent dc, small-signal ac or large-signal transient analyses. For nonlinear and time domain analyses, the method of reduction to linear algebraic equations has yet to be demonstrated. Nonetheless, in this chapter methods of solving systems of linear algebraic equations will be considered. As the methods apply to nodal analysis, modified nodal analysis and sparse tableau analysis equally well, a system of linear equations of the form $$ A\,X = B $$ (2.1) will be assumed.
