Abstract

The steady-state problem of the scattering of an incident Rayleigh wave by a right angle corner is considered. A stable numerical procedure is developed to solve the governing equations which have been previously derived by the author. The reflection and transmission coefficients can be computed from two independent equations, which provides a check on both the accuracy and correctness of the results. The method used can be extended to other wedge angles both greater than and less than 180°.
