Abstract
Recently, D1 V~CCHIA and FUBINI (1) have found operators which have the property of generating only physical states in the Virasoro case (a = 1). In this note, we use these operators to compute scattering amplitudes for excited external particles. This is an extension of previously derived results for the parent trajectory (2). In particular, our results are obtained by using the operator W(~)(x), which generates physical (including zero-norm) states coupled to two scalars. On the 2V-th tower, there is one such state for each spin J = 0, 1 . . . . . h r. A similar t reatment can be given for states coupled to three or more scalars, but the results are considerably more complicated. The operator Wr is given by
