Abstract
The use of 111In and 169Yb-both nuclides decaying via gamma - gamma -cascades-in positive tumour scintigraphy has lead to consideration of a highly efficient coincidence counting system. The reduced efficiency arising from the coincidence condition was found to be one problem; a second is the rate of random pulses which accompany this reduction. A measurement technique is shown which overcomes these limitations.
