Abstract

A 50-year history of the SCA was presented in California Archaeology 8(2), December 2016. Although there was some treatment in the decadal look about at the special place Native Americans hold in the SCA, the editors felt that an expanded look at legal and cultural changes might be warranted. Thus a separate decadal history has been developed to supply background about Native Americans and SCA policy, Native American issues, and commonality we may find. This history is supplied in the next two journals: the first 30 years are presented here, followed by the last 20 years in the next volume.
