Abstract

The reduction of the elastic energy of Polymer Dispersed Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal (PDFLC) films results in a decreasing of the saturation voltage. The size and shape of the droplets determine the PDFLC electrooptical effect and the temperature dependence of the saturation voltage. PDFLC films with the saturation voltage of 7–9 V have been created.
