Abstract

Chaco province, Argentina, comprises a multiethnic population and is one of the poorest regions of Argentina. Almost 60.000 Toba aborigines, a gather and hunter culture, habits in it. They got contact with civilization in the late nineteenth century, and, though many of them still live in rural areas, most have moved to suburban areas. During 2003, cardiovascular and renal risk factors (CVRRF) were studied in 385 Toba people living in suburban neighborhoods from Resistencia City (Chaco) .
