Abstract
Chronic kidney disease-related bone and mineral disorder (CKD-MBD) associates with a unique bone loss in chronic kidney disease (CKD) and Hemodialysis (HD) patients. Several bone turnover markers are used clinically to estimate their bone loss. Hypoalbuminemia in these patients represents chronic malnutrition and inflammation. We proposed that hypoalbuminemia in HD patients influence their bone turnover status and bone loss. In this study, we evaluate the pattern of bone turnover marker changes and their relationship with serum albumin levels among HD patients.
