Abstract
St. Petersburg Pasteur station was only Institution of this kind, that happened to Initiate the world's first medical-biological research center. In an article dedicated to the 125-th anniversary of the opening of the station, describes the history of its creation and traced the path of becoming a Institute of Experimental Medicine (IEM). Consider the outcome of immunization branch of the IEM and its role in the development of anti-rabies Service of the North-West Russia.
