Abstract

Needle knife precutting papillotomy (NKPP) is a powerful tool to make a successful selective deep biliary cannulation in difficult cases. However, this procedure is thought to increase a risk of post-ERCP pancreatitis (PEP). This retrospective study validates that early implementation of NKPP reduces PEP rate in difficult cases. Furthermore, we evaluate preventive effect of PEP in an endoscopic pancreatic stent (EPS).
