Abstract
The current society confronts various complex issues including the aged society with rapid increasing seniors, the recovery from the big natural disaster, and the increase in the number of old infrastructures. Robotics and mechatronics are expected to play important roles and to provide effective solutions in settling those issues. The Technical Section on Dependability-Conscious Robotics & Mechatronics was set up in the JSME in December 2006 in order to survey the current status on various issues related to Safety-Security-Dependability and to look for proper collaborations among universities, industries and governments. In this manuscript the safety recovery and the mind safety issues will be focused and surveyed.
