Abstract

The reaction of [Ru(CO)Cl(RCCHR′)(PPh 3) 2] complexes with Na[S 2CNEt 2] and K[S 2CO iPr] gave the complexes, Ru(SS)(CO)(RCCHR′)(PPh 3) 2, where SS = S 2CNEt 2 and S 2CO iPr, respectively, and in which the sulphur-containing ligands are η 2- coordinated to ruthenium. The structures of the synthesized products are proposed on the basis of spectroscopic data and they contain octahedral ruthenium(II) with the SS, CO and RCCHR′ ligands in an equatorial plane and the two phosphines in the trans position. The chemical shifts (δ) of the terminal alkenyl-containing complexes have been compared with those of the related carboxylate complexes [Ru(O 2CR″)(CO)(HC CHR′)(PPh 3) 2].
