Abstract
The reaction of [Ru(CO)Cl(RCCHR′)(PPh 3) 2] complexes with Na[S 2CNEt 2] and K[S 2CO iPr] gave the complexes, Ru(SS)(CO)(RCCHR′)(PPh 3) 2, where SS = S 2CNEt 2 and S 2CO iPr, respectively, and in which the sulphur-containing ligands are η 2- coordinated to ruthenium. The structures of the synthesized products are proposed on the basis of spectroscopic data and they contain octahedral ruthenium(II) with the SS, CO and RCCHR′ ligands in an equatorial plane and the two phosphines in the trans position. The chemical shifts (δ) of the terminal alkenyl-containing complexes have been compared with those of the related carboxylate complexes [Ru(O 2CR″)(CO)(HC CHR′)(PPh 3) 2].
