Abstract

[1295649-41-0] C29H35BNOP2Ru (MW 587.42) InChI = 1S/C28H28NP2.CO.BH3.Ru.2H/c1-5-13-25(14-6-1)30(26-15-7-2-8-16-26)23-21-29-22-24-31(27-17-9-3-10-18-27)28-19-11-4-12-20-28;1-2;;;;/h1-20H,21-24H2;;1H3;;;/q-1;;;+1;; InChIKey = NLUGPDVANZZFDJ-UHFFFAOYSA-N (ruthenium catalyst for dehydrogenation of methanol; hydrogenation of esters, including alkyl oxalates, phthalates, and malonates) Alternate Names: carbonylhydrido(tetrahydroborato)[bis-(2-diphenylphosphinoethyl)amine]ruthenium(II); Ru-MACHO-BH. Solubility: soluble in protic solvents such as methanol and ethanol, as well as in THF and PhCH3. Preparative Method: carbonylhydrido(tetrahydroborato)[bis-(2-diphenylphosphinoethyl)amino]ruthenium(II) (1), also known as Ru-MACHO-BH, can be prepared by NaBH4 reduction of ruthenium complex 2; the latter is readily synthesized from the commercially available bis[(2-diphenylphosphino)ethyl]ammonium chloride and carbonylchlorohydridotris(triphenylphosphine)ruthenium(II) (eq 1).1 (1) Handling, Storage, and Precautions: phosphine-containing hydridoruthenium complexes are generally air sensitive and may undergo slow decomposition in air; storage under an inert atmosphere in a refrigerator is highly recommended.
