Abstract
Identity, be it individual or cultural, gender or national, has come to the fore in recent years as a ‘fashionable theme’ to quote Frederic Jameson. The Scripted Self is an exploration into the highly contentious issue of identity in contemporary Spanish narrative (post 1975) by three scholars from the University of Leeds.
