Abstract

Russian philosophy has specifi c character that distinguishes it from the philosophy of Western European countries. Often that fact served as the motive for denying the existence of philosophy as such in Russia. In he article the author proves that Russian philosophy is a separate trend in world philosophical thought and reveals its main features in its connection with Russian national culture. He shows that Russian philosophy is equally complex and internally contradictory as Russian national consciousness itself. The author proves that Russian philosophy in its thousand-year history has more than once approached the solution of eternal questions in its highest models
