Abstract

This article analyzes Indian security options and trajectories within the overall context of evolving Indian‐Russian relations and in the wake of the recent nuclear tests. The two countries find themselves increasingly in the “same weight” category, especially in economic terms. Military‐technical cooperation appears to be the only solid pillar of the strategic partnership. Russian‐Indian relations seem unlikely to acquire alliance‐like dimensions.
