Abstract

Starting from the first acquaintance of the Chinese diplomatic envoys with the ballet at the end of the Qing Dynasty and ending with the arrival of the Rus-sian emigrants in the first half of the XX century, the ballet art has developed in China. On the basis of modern review of the relevant historical material the article considers the process of development of the traditions of the Russian ballet in three Chinese cities and also reveals the features of the ballet art in the Chinese society under the influence of the Russian emigrants.
