Abstract

The issue of (re-)integration of the post-Soviet space arose simultaneously with the emergence of the new Russia. In the middle of the first decade of the twenty-first century, integration in the post-Soviet space remains a priority, and a field of constant concern for Russian foreign policy. The approaches to CIS integration are developing over time. There is a mix of continuity both in the underlying goals and in the means employed to achieve them. This chapter intends to identify the characteristics of the developing Russian integration strategy for the post-Soviet space in the 2000s.
