Abstract
The review of the key indicators of the global scientific and technological ecosystem development; updated in 2018; is carried out to determine the important trends and focuses for Russia. Particular attention is drawn to the fact that the share of the business sector in industrialized countries is becoming a major source of R & D funding. In the Russian Federation; total R & D investments by all Russian industrial companies in 2016 amounted to €8.39 billion in PPP terms; which is less than the 2016 budget of each individual company included in the top 10 rankings of the European Commission “EU Industrial RD Alphabet and Microsoft.

Объем совокупных инвестиций всех российских промышленных компаний в НИОКР составил 8,39 млрд. В докладе «Science and Engineering Indicators 2018» [1] обращено внимание на то обстоятельство, что на поддержку фундаментальных научных исследований в Китае приходится лишь 5% национального бюджета на ИиР (в США – 17%), а 84% ВЗИР КНР направлены на проекты стадии ОКР, т. В пересчете по ППС объем совокупных инвестиций всех российских промышленных компаний в НИОКР составил в 2016 г.
