Abstract

In this paper, we want to show how to obtain information about the spectrum of runaway electrons with kinetic energy in the range T≈ 0.25–2 MeV using Cherenkov radiation (ChR). We use a quartz target as a radiator which is tilted so that the generated Cherenkov optical photons can leave it. Electrons are light charged particles and such process as multiple scattering has a significant influence on ChR angular distribution since it can blur angular distribution of ChR. In spite of this fact, information about the runaway kinetic energy can be obtained by deconvolving ChR angular distribution.
