Abstract

We present the idea of using ultra-fast rapid single flux quantum (RSFQ) logic circuits for an advanced code division multiple access base station receiver, multiuser detector. The aim of such a device is to remove interference between users and thus increase the cell capacity and throughput. The device consists of two functional blocks: a partial crosscorrelation unit and iterative linear system solver (ILSS). These blocks are responsible for interference regeneration and subtraction correspondingly. The ILSS is the most difficult to implement part due to the linear growth of delay vs. number of processed channels. In this paper, the architecture of the unit and RSFQ circuitry are investigated, taking into account practical demands of a highly loaded cellular system.
