Abstract

The extraction of rotational contributions to the energies of deep-inelastic fragments from light systems is discussed. It is concluded that the data are consistent with the occurrence of scission at the critical radius as well as at the large radii previously suggested.NUCLEAR REACTIONS $^{35}\mathrm{Cl}$ + $^{27}\mathrm{Al}$, $^{20}\mathrm{Ne}$ + $^{27}\mathrm{Al}$, Calculated deep-inelastic fragment energies, extracted rotational contribution.
