Abstract
SUUMMARY Juvenile, mature green stem, and mature brown stem/woody cuttings of Casuarina equisetifolia were tested for their capacity to form roots. Cuttings were treated with different concentrations of auxins (IBA, NA A and IA A). Treated cuttings were planted either in soil beds or in water culture jars. Maximum success was achieved with mature green stem cuttings soaked in 50 mg/1 IBA for 3 hrs followed by water culture in V-strength Hoagland's solution minus nitrogen. Inoculating rooted cuttings with a nodule suspension of Frankia gave 84% nodule formation after 3 months.
