Abstract

Summary A method of treatment of fractures of the mandible is described where a single molar tooth is present on the posterior fragment, and the line of fracture runs down the anterior root. The excision of the involved root and subsequent use of the treated tooth for immobilisation has simplified the treatment of these fractures.
