Abstract
Romanian and American librarians are working together on a project to index humanities and social sciences journals published in Romania. The index, to be available online, would offer several advantages. Many Romanian libraries are already compiling modest indexes, limited to local access. Working together, they could create a much larger and more current product and eliminate the redundancy of indexing some of the same periodicals at their separate locations. Making it available commercially is expected to defray much of the cost.
