Septimius Severus who was bom in Lepcis Manga, one of the three towns ofTripolitaniaHowever, he was not the jirst emperor not originally Roman and Italian. In this process, he had tworivals. The first of his rivals was governing in Syria province which was the territoryof Septimius'Niger, in Anatolia.
