Abstract
The IAS/PELS Singapore Chapter, together with the Rolls- Royce@Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Corporate Lab, jointly organized a keynote talk. Dr. Mike M. Mekhiche, the deputy director of Rolls-Royce, delivered this address on 7 March 2019 at the Hive at NTU. Dr. Mekhiche discussed electrification in the aerospace industry, starting by sharing his more than 25 years of experience in technology and product development; qualification; and commercialization in the defense, aerospace, and commercial markets. He then discussed the challenges and opportunities in electrifying the aerospace industry and concluded with Rolls- Royce’s perspective.
